Baking is a Process

Baking is a process - raw cookies go into the oven and after the right amount of time, they come out of the oven ready to eat. If you take them out too soon, they will still be raw and not ready to eat. If you take them out too late, they will be burned and ruined. Our lives are the same way. Sometimes we need to go into the heat of the oven in order to "bake" and come out at the right time. The oven may be hot, but God knows the baking process and He knows just the right amount of time we need. He won't let us stay in the oven long enough to let us burn, and He also won't let us out too early before we are ready. If you feel like you are in the heat of the oven, trust the baking process and trust The One holding the timer.

Has there ever been a time you felt that things were taking longer than you would have liked? Or maybe you have felt that God wasn't coming through for you on your timeline? Maybe you feel like that right now with something going on in your life. I know I have been in this type of a situation more times than I would like to admit. I can become impatient, moody, and sometimes even angry with God that things aren't going the way I expected. Whenever I felt myself in this place, I think of Ecclesiastes 3:1 - "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under Heaven." This helps me to remember that God has a time for everything, I just need to be patient and follow Him. He knows best and His timing is better than mine.

Journal Prompt - Take a few moments to reflect on a time where something wasn't happening in the timeline you were hoping for. How did this situation turn out in the end? How did you see God's timing in the situation?

You can even bake up a batch of our Chewy Gingersnap Cookies while you reflect on this! They are delicious and will have your home smelling amazing!
